Sunday June 24th
WRT was called early Sunday morning to Baxter State Park. Team members arrived at Katahdin Stream Campground late morning and ascended the Hunt Trail 2.5 miles to above tree line. There they met up with rescue effort and immediately started to help lower the 68 year old hiker down over the bolderous terrain. The team worked in unison with other trained teams to set up a high angle system and several low angle systems to lower the patient safely.
The effort went well into the night and after 10 hours the patient was safely delivered to the ambulance that arrived at Katahdin Stream. A major thanks to fellow rescue team members, volunteers, and park staff for a successful mission.
